Eric André is bringing back his musical project Blarf. Film Scores For Films That Don’t Exist, the follow-up to Blarf's 2019 debut album Cease & Desist, is out in May.
The title is quite literal. Taking inspiration from composers like Ennio Morricone and Vangelis, the actor-comedian — who studied upright bass at Berklee College of Music — came up with symphonic instrumentals designed to pair well with movies. He recruited a full orchestra to bring these tunes to life, recording in Los Angeles and Budapest.
"What's For Dinner," the lead single, builds up from a dramatically darting string section to full-on orchestral rock bombast. Pinch harmonics are involved. Listen below.
