At the end of the month Carla dal Forno will release her new album Confession, which she announced with the excellent lead single "Going Out." That song was about pining for somebody who wasn't available, but today's new single "Under The Covers" is a very sweet love song about a relationship where both people are especially suited for each other.
Dal Forno explains that "Under The Covers" is about the kind of love "that builds slowly in shared routines, small gestures, and the comfort of being understood without needing to explain yourself... where intimacy shows up in ordinary moments, and understanding becomes its own kind of language between two people." Dal Forno delineates some of those welcome mundanities over a sparse, hypnotic instrumental: "We both know that we're in luck/ 'Cause not much changes, and that's what we both want."
"Under The Covers" arrives with a lightly-NSFW stop-motion video comprising paintings by Ruth O'Leary. Check it out below.
Confession is out 4/24 via Kallista. Pre-order it here.
