Did you hear the lead single from the new Slippers album Slippers 08? It was called "Wants For Everyone," and it ruled. So does "Fool In Your Room," the new Slippers track out today.
This anxious indie-pop jangler finds Madeline Babuka Black lamenting her circumstances via lyrics like "I can't find my wallet or keys/ I guess I will just cancel all my cards." I love the delicate harmonies on the words "all my cards." There's also an exquisite five-second guitar solo. Imagine Colleen Green's I Want To Grow Up with the grunge influence subbed out for pure, unfiltered twee, and you're getting close to this song's ethos.

Slippers 08 is out 6/5 on K/Perennial. Pre-order it.
