Aldous Harding – “Venus In The Zinnia” (Feat. H. Hawkline)

Aldous Harding introduced her new album Train On The Island with "One Stop," a tremendous folk-pop track that includes the lyric "I met the real John Cale." I thought Harding also said "I met Jenny from the block," but I was wrong. It's actually "Imagining from the block." Bummer. Great song, though, and only mildly off-kilter, which feels like a big change for Harding, a true weirdo in the best way.

Today she's back with the new album's second single, "Venus In The Zinnia." It's a duet with H. Hawkline, and it once again feels a little more accessible than your average Aldous Harding joint. It's pretty, it's groovy, it rocks just the right amount. Love the Wurlitzer action by producer John Parish. Love the way Harding and Hawkline drowsily exchange lines. There's a lot to love about it is what I'm saying.

"Venus In The Zinnia" comes with a video "created by Aldous Harding, Martin Sagadin, Hopey Parish and Michelle Henning," which shifts between shots of Harding and Hawkline on a video chat, Harding relaxing in a pool, and Harding... flying low over the surface of the Earth? Yeah, check it out:

The Prodigy also released a remix of Harding's recent Sleaford Mods collab "Elitest G.O.A.T." this week, so listen to that too:
