Now, this is what I call a festival lineup. FORM Arcosanti, the festival that the band Hundred Waters started in 2014, made its grand return to the Arizona desert last year. That was the first FORM fest since the pre-pandemic days, and it wasn't a one-off. This fall, FORM Arcosanti is coming back again, and it's got a truly impressive bill, including headline acts like Geese, Lorde, Turnstile, Adrianne Lenker, Blood Orange, and Kamasi Washington.
This year's FORM Arcosanti goes down Oct. 9-11 in Arcosanti, Arizona. Beyond the big names, the festival will feature an extremely impressive array of acts, including Nourished By Time, ML Buch, James K, Underscores, Zack Fox, Julianna Barwick & Mary Lattimore, Fcukers, Avalon Emerson, YHWH Nailgun, ear, Seun Kuti & Egypt 80, Twin Shadow, Keiyaa, David Moore, Annahstasia, Jacob Alon, John Carroll Kirby, Sees00000, Rusowsky, Ben UFO, and FIFI. 100 gecs' Dylan Brady will perform solo, and Tinashe, Disclosure, and Tycho will play DJ sets. The poster promises no overlapping sets. It's a very small fest, too — just 2500 people.
Honestly, why do we go to music festivals? We get to hang out with friends, visit places that we might've never otherwise seen, and zone out to extremely cool music — some familiar, some new to us. This looks like the best version of that. It's the kind of lineup where I want to look up the acts I don't know because the ones I do know are basically all great and because they fit together in cool ways, so I want to see the rest of the puzzle.
