The Menzingers returned back in February with "Nobody's Heroes," a dose of huge, lightly-punky heartland rock. Now, the Philly mainstays have revealed that they're following up their 2023 album Some Of It Was True this July with Everything I Ever Saw. The announcement arrives with another massive single called "Chance Encounters."
Of the new album, Menzingers guitarist Tom May has this to say in a press release:
So much changed in our lives and in the world while we were making this record, and somehow, it all pulled us deeper into the band and deeper into our friendship. Twenty years in and this is the most connected we've felt to what we're doing. I'd always heard "bigger kids, bigger problems," and there's truth in that, but there's also bigger answers and deeper meaning. There's a kind of hard-won hope you can only find on the other side of real change. In all the uncertainty of life and the world it's easy to go straight to cynical. Easy to say fuck it all. With Everything I Ever Saw, we wanted to lean into all of it, head on. The whole damn thing.
"Chance Encounters" is Everything I Ever Saw's opener, and it kicks things off with a ton of adrenaline-fueled singalong hooks: "So sick of being lonely/ Do you want to get to know me?" Greg Barnett asks in its first lines. The Menzingers co-directed the "Chance Encounters" video with Britain Weyant; you can watch that below, where you'll also find the full album tracklist and the band's upcoming tour dates.
