Phoebe Bridgers Debuts New Songs At Roswell Pop-Up Show

Next month marks six years since Phoebe Bridgers' seminal sophomore album, Punisher. Since then, the singer-songwriter has catapulted into fame. In 2022, she shared the song "Sidelines" and some melancholy Christmas tunes, and the following year boygenius released a Grammy-winning album and went on a huge tour, and then Bridgers practically disappeared into reclusion. Last night, she played her first show in three years. It was announced the day before, and it took place in Roswell, New Mexico.

The rules were strict: No electronics, no camping out, no pens or pencils — presumably so concertgoers couldn't write down lyrics. Along with tracks from Punisher and Stranger In The Alps, she performed four new songs. Christian Lee Hutson was playing guitar and harmonica. In their Yondr pouches, fans found puzzle pieces that may or may not be previews of an album cover.

After the set, she signed stuff for fans, including tits and shoes. There was also new merch, which was space-themed, and some had lyrics on it, such as "Now I can't see any stars in the sky/ When a dream comes true, a fantasy dies." Fans also say aliens were a big theme of the evening, which explains why the show took place in Roswell. Somehow a clip of her singing "Sidelines" has emerged. Watch below.

It was a big day for Roswell news.
