Klas Åhlund is probably best known as Robyn's go-to producer on her Body Talk trilogy and this year's Sexistential, while Kenneth Blume is best known as the hip-hop beatmaker who's now staking his claim outside of the rap world by working on albums like Geese's Getting Killed. Last month, the pair teamed up behind the scenes on "Dance In The USA," an amped-up single from the outlandish New York City punks Show Me The Body. Today Show Me The Body announced that Åhlund and Blume produced their new album Alone Together; it's out in July, and another striking single called "No God" is out now.
As Show Me The Body tell it, Alone Together was made with the goal of prioritizing the elements of their music that are distinct to them. Frontman Julian Cashwan Pratt recalls: "[Åhlund] was like, 'Those parts only your band could do? You should just do that all the time. All the parts that sound like everybody else, you should just do less.'"
"No God" pairs hypnotic, percussive electric guitars with Pratt's expressive shout-raps about control (or a lack thereof): "I will wait for no god to make it real... I need to make it real!" Check out the video below, which was directed by Alex Huggins and stars the notorious masked street racer License.
