Susan Boyle & Franz Ferdinand’s Alex Kapranos Link Up For Irn-Bru

Scottish musicians are celebrating their first World Cup qualification since 1998. On Tuesday Belle And Sebastian released the victorious anthem "It Only Takes One Lion," the same day Susan Boyle and Franz Ferdinand's Alex Kapranos linked up for a triumphant Irn-Bru ad. (Last week, Nathan Evans — the "Wellerman" lad — released a World Cup version of his 2024 song "Home.")

Have you ever wanted to hear Susan Boyle sing a silly song called "We're Made In Scotland From Girders" from atop the Forth Bridge while Alex Kapranos shredded on guitar? Now you can thanks to the new commercial for the popular soft drink from Scotland, and it also has Scottish footballer John McGinn and comedian Paul Black. Oh, and there is a scene of Boyle breakdancing (haters will say it's a stunt double).

"It's really been a whirlwind," Boyle said in a statement. "From recording studios to different shoots, all completely hush-hush, it's been a hugely memorable few months to say the least. The anthem is such a fun track, it really shows what being a Scotland fan is all about and perfectly sums up this World Cup not just for the supporters but also the team. There’s definitely going to be a whole range of emotions over the next few weeks but more than any other group of fans in the world, the Girders spirit will get us through."
