Piu is Vancouver Island-based Priyanka Chakrabarti, whose music presents a thoughtful blend of synths, beats, and field recordings inspired by Indian raga and folk music. She's been promoting her forthcoming album Milao with advance singles including the serenely droning title track and the woozy, beat-driven "Jaare," which reminds me of solo Thom Yorke. Today's new single "Home" builds steadily into a bleary, syncopated electronic epic.

Piu offered this statement:

"Home" explores the idea of finding belonging within yourself, wherever you are. Written from experiences of moving through unfamiliar spaces, the piece reflects the search for connection amid uncertainty and change. 'Home' is both a place of return and an ongoing process of becoming.

Built around a simple synth and vocal motif that returns throughout the track, "Home" gradually unfolds into an expansive world shaped by breakbeat rhythms and layered modular synthesis. Familiar elements reappear in new forms, propelling this spacious, richly textured piece forward.

Hear "Home" below, where you can also hear "Milao" and "Jaare."
