Harmonies, baby! The playful, adventurous London trio Ebbb truly go wild with the harmonies on their new song "Side On." The track combines dazed, beatific Beach Boys-style choral ooohs with headlong jungle breakbeats, a cool juxtaposition that I don't think I've heard before. They're trying things, and those things are working.
"Side On" is our latest taste of Ebbb's upcoming full-length debut Shallow Hits, and it follows "Home Ground," "Now You Know," and the title track. On the subject of "Side On," the band says, "Our idea was to contrast the standing piano chords and direct vocal melody with really propulsive, busy drums. It’s a song about living life 'side on' and so never really filling your potential." Check it out below.
