Robert Smith recently earned his first-ever Hot 100 entry as a solo artist thanks to his wonderful Olivia Rodrigo collab "what's wrong with me." Now, the Cure frontman appears on a new Rolling Stones single called "Divine Intervention."
"Divine Intervention" has Smith on guitar as well as Steve Winwood on piano and organ. It comes from the legendary rock outfit's forthcoming record Foreign Tongues, from which we've heard "Rough And Twisted" and "In The Stars." We also get "Jealous Lover," whose accompanying music video stars Anya Taylor-Joy and Charles Melton, which premiered today via Amazon Music. "Divine Intervention" is one of two tracks on the album that feature Robert Smith.
Meanwhile, the Rolling Stones recently launched a podcast called Speaking In Tongues, whose first episode is out today. Over six episodes, it'll have interviews with Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood, narrated by their frequent collaborator Norah Jones. There will also be contributions from producer Andrew Watt, Robert Smith, and Steve Winwood, as well as the record's cover artist Nathaniel Mary Quinn.
The band also recently unveiled Marvel, FIFA, and NASCAR vinyl editions for Foreign Tongues. Hear "Divine Intervention" and "Jealous Lover" below, and watch the video for the latter directed by Chris Barrett and Luke Taylor on Amazon Music.
