This past March, former Dead Kennedys frontman Jello Biafra suffered a hemorrhagic stroke caused by high blood pressure. Over the past several months, he has been making a steady recovery. Anne-Marie Anderson of Alternative Tentacles, Biafra's record label, has been caring for him while keeping fans updated on his progress. Yesterday, Biafra made his triumphant return to the stage.
On June 27, during Tentacle Fest at San Francisco's Great American Music Hall, Biafra joined Denver, Colorado experimental punks Wheelchair Sports Camp for a performance of their searing song "Make It Make It Sense," from oh imperfecta, which was released on May 15 via Alternative Tentacles. Dressed in satirical regalia, Biafra took the stage to sing the song's chorus, marking his first live performance since his stroke.

Jello would like to let everyone know that even though he indeed got on stage for Tentacle Fest, he still has a ways to go in terms of his recovery. That evening took a lot out of him. It is pretty great that he has come as far as he has. Again, the outpouring of caring is very much appreciated.
