Lankum’s Radie Peat Shares Debut Solo Single “Still I Love Him”

Daniel Archer

Dublin's Lankum, last heard collaborating with Fontaines D.C.'s Grian Chatten on the Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man soundtrack, have a stark, doomy, experimental take on traditional Irish folk music. A lot of their power comes from the bell-clear voice of singer Radie Peat. Today, Peat releases her first-ever debut single, and it continues the Lankum project of spooky traditionalism.

Peat's new single is a take on the Irish folk song "Still I Love Him," which her friend John Francis Flynn found in the Traditional Music Archives. Over a slow and spare arrangement, Peat sings about torturing herself for love. When you hear her voice, your goosebumps might break out in goosebumps. Below, check out director Robbie Mailer-Howat's video for the song, as well as Peat's upcoming solo live shows.

TOUR DATES:
11/03 - London, UK @ Union Chapel
11/20 - Dublin, Ireland @ Vicar St.
1/31 - Amsterdam, Netherlands @ Paradiso

"Still I Love Him" is out now on Rough Trade.
