Three summers ago we shared Serotonin, the debut album God Of War. The band — a collaboration between They Are Gutting A Body Of Water's Doug Dulgarian and the two members of Hooky, Scott Turner and Sam Silbert — is back today with news of a second LP. It's called Molly Picture, it's dropping in a month, and two songs are streaming now.
"Mickey Don't Pose" is both poppier and more guitar-oriented than the Serotonin material, but it's bouncy energy remains uncanny and out-of-this world. It sounds like a huge radio hit within the extended universe of a 16-bit RPG. (Or maybe it just sounds like Callahan & Witscher?) "New Deal" is also quite guitar-forward, but it's soon immersed in synths, moving like a trip-hop track that just inhaled a balloon's worth of helium.
