Remaining Four Original Faust Members Announce Four New Albums: Hear A Track From Each

Geboren Wustmann

Krautrock greats Faust have been around for over half a century in various permutations. Today, the group's four surviving original members announced a fun initiative: They're each releasing their own solo album. You know, like KISS! Bureau B will release all four LPs simultaneously in September.

Here's a little breakdown of the four records:

With Unbegunden, Hans Joachim Irmler returns to the elemental power of sound itself, creating a solo work of immersive electronics, organ drones and spontaneous creation that channels Faust's most transformative and destabilising impulses.

Jean-Hervé Péron's MOI presents a deeply personal yet profoundly communal record, drawing together a wide network of collaborators in a playful, moving and unpredictable collage of musique concrète, spoken word, avant-pop, jazz and Fluxus-inspired experimentation.

Fliegen Lernen sees Gunther Wüsthoff, working alongside Onnen Bock and Bureau B's Gunther Buskies, revisit the openness and collective thinking that defined the group's earliest years, crafting a set of rhythmically inventive, genre-defying pieces that balance wit, groove and experimentation.

Meanwhile, Werner "Zappi" Diermaier's Gugaruz, created alongside Schneider TM, places rhythm at the centre of an ever-shifting landscape of noise, electronics and electro-acoustic invention, merging his unmistakable percussion language with electronic manipulation, studio experimentation and textural deconstruction.

The four Faust solo albums will be out 9/26 via Bureau B.
