Carly Rae Jepsen – “After All”

Vince Aung

Around the time that this summer draws to an end, cult-pop overlord Carly Rae Jepsen will return with Day And Night, a new 24-song double album divided into two distinct and self-explanatory halves. Jepsen has already shared lead single "On Wires," which comes from the daytime half of the record. Now, she's got another new one, and it's also from the day disc. She's really leaning into the sunniness right now.

Jepsen recorded "After All" with her longtime collaborator Kyle Shearer on production, and she co-wrote it with Shearer and Nate Cyphert, another guy who has been in her orbit for years. The track starts out as a smooth ode to domestic bliss. But when the chorus hits, it shoots into a much more disco-house direction, which makes for a nice little fake-out. She's very, very pregnant in the Aerin Moreno-directed video. She and her husband had their first kid earlier this year, so she must've filmed it before that. Check it out below.

Day And Night is out 9/18 on Interscope.
