This past Saturday, renowned producer Dahi brought his forthcoming project, Black Boy (Alternative), to the stage in Inglewood, California, ahead of its Aug. 28 release. Hosted at sister dreamer, "lauren halsey’s architectural ode to tha surge n splurge of south central los angeles," the performance featured a lineup of special guests including Childish Gambino, Vince Staples, Ravyn Lenae, Channel Tres, Mez, French Anthony, and Jesse Boykins III.
Dahi’s set balanced career-defining hits with new material from the upcoming project. Vince Staples, Channel Tres, and French Anthony joined him for the debut of “Who Are You,” while Mez performed “Find Me.” Childish Gambino took the stage for the new track “Running,” and Ravyn Lenae and Jesse Boykins III teamed up to perform “Drowning.”
The producer also paid tribute to some of the defining records in his catalog, revisiting Kendrick Lamar’s “Money Trees" and "Count Me Out," and Travis Scott’s “90210,” all of which he co-produced.
