Florence Road – “7563”

11:13 AM EDT on August 7, 2026

Irish rock group Florence Road released a new single today, but if you've been to any of their shows over the last couple of years, you might recognize "7563." "So happy to finally release this song, after two years of playing it live," the band shared on social media.

They continued: "We’ve had the joy of playing it in Australia, across Europe, and in America, and now you can finally know what the lyrics are. This song means the world to us. For anyone with the strange feeling of becoming a stranger to yourself."

"7563" has immediate potency. It opens with anthemic cries and a revving guitar melody. The first verse is also striking: "Oh everything's blue/ I'm covered in green/ My face is an apple tree/ What does that mean?" Things only get more surreal from there. Here's the chorus: "Dive slow and I'm falling for hours/ And the seahorse is pulling me downwards/ And I'm tangled in the fright." Lily Aron's vocals make the impossible imagery feel strangely familiar, like a dream you forgot you had.
