The Colorado-based musician, composer, and found sound artist Matthew J. Sage is always getting up to something, and a Bandcamp notification from his account is always welcome. The latest arrived today, heralding Brush Flier, a new EP featuring unused material from last year's album Tender / Wading. He's calling these six tracks "daydreams from a different world."
We get to hear two of them right out of the gate. "Thunder Covered Brush" and "Near Faraway Place" are the first two songs on the tracklist, and they bleed together into an immersive introduction, seguing from jittery digital jazz to the sound of pouring rain to beautiful post-rock textures that will appeal to Gen X IDM zealots and Gen Z glitch-folkies alike. Hear both tracks below.
Brush Flier is out 9/25 on RVNG.
