LA alt-pop singer-songwriter Oston has been ramping up to her debut album Isn't It Sweet? Over the course of the past year or so, she's released well-crafted singles including "True-ish," "Placebo Effect," and "Couldn't It Be Me?" Today, along with details on the new LP, she's got another new track to share.
Oston grew up in the ski town of Park City, Utah, longtime home of Sundance Film Festival (sadly, it's moving). One of the main influences she claims is Julia Michaels, whose conversational, deeply emotive style clearly left an imprint on Oston's own authorial voice. And if you're into Audrey Hobert and Gracie Abrams, you'll probably find something to like about these tracks.
Isn't It Sweet? is set for release next month. Today's new single, "I Think The Drugs Are Working Now," is an agile synth-powered pop track with a nearly imperceptible hint of twang, existing right at the midpoint between Chvrches and Kacey Musgraves. Listen below.
