Slipknot have finally confirmed turntablist #0 is out of the band after 28 years. Two weeks ago, TMZ reported that the metal group’s original DJ, Sid Wilson, was notified that he’d been "permanently kicked out." Now the pink slip appears official.
According to TMZ's reporting last month, "the decision came after the group finally had enough of Sid's behavior … namely, the way he treated his bandmates." Neither Slipknot nor Wilson, who also performs with his own band SID and solo as DJ Starscream, commented on the report at the time, although guitarist Jim Root (#4) posted, “Don't believe everything you read.”
"Effective immediately, Slipknot will no longer be associated with Sid Wilson," reads a graphic posted on their socials. "We wish him the best in his future endeavors." Slipknot deleted the posts after about ten minutes, but that's also how they've handled other recent personnel announcements.
Kelly Osbourne, who has a child with Wilson but recently called off their engagement, posted cryptic Instagram stories in the wake of Wilson's reported firing. "Wake the fuck up take some responsibility I will not take your shit anymore," she wrote. "I want to be happy and I have a beautiful son to raise. Leave me alone. let me heal. I can't protect you from yourself anymore." In a separate story, she wrote, "Also while I'm at it can I have my dogs back and all my possessions. Oh yeah and maybe some child support?" She also posted several messages about protecting her child.
Wilson's firing follows the departures of original percussionist Chris Fehn (#3), original keyboardist Craig Jones (#5), and longtime drummer Jay Weinberg in recent years. Slipknot’s last live show was at Inkcarceration 2025.
