Last night, at Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, Noah Kahan fans were greeted with a big surprise — and this time it was not shit or piss. Kahan brought out friend and "generational GOAT" Chappell Roan to sing her song "California" from her breakthrough debut album The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess.
"Noah always stands up for me, thank you," Roan said before they began their duet. "He's a good person, for real." Kahan then introduced the song, adding, "We're gonna sing the first song I ever heard of Kayleigh's and it was the reason I fell in love with her music and I'm just really proud of her and grateful she would come sing with me."
Kahan's love of "California" and championing of Roan goes way back. When asked online what he was listening to during quarantine in 2020, his response was Roan's tender ballad. He also stood by her when she called out a photographer at the VMAs for being rude.

I’ll never forget leaving Clive Davis and the horrific shit photographers and paparazzi or whatever were saying to me in front of my sweet mom who couldn’t believe it was actually happening. Love this @ChappellRoan way to stand up for yourself https://t.co/3zjqMpybVa
