Your body doesn't care about your album-rollout plans. Sometimes, your body can actively veto your album-rollout plans. Phoebe Bridgers' triumphant new LP Lost Weekend is finally out, and she recently arrived in the UK to play a series of sold-out, no-phone record store gigs and signings. She played two sets at London's Union Chapel on Monday, which happened to be her 32nd birthday, but then she came down with appendicitis.
On her Instagram story early this morning, Bridgers posted a photo of herself in the hospital, letting the world know that her upcoming UK engagements "will have to move but I'll make it up to you!!!!!"
The following shows, listed on Bridgers' website, seemingly aren't happening for now:
8/19 - Kingston @ Circuit (matinee + evening)
8/20 - Brighton @ Chalk matinee + evening)
8/21 - Bristol @ Electric (matinee + evening)
Bridgers was also supposed to make an appearance in the BBC's Live Lounge today. I never had appendicitis, but the internet tells me that she should take at least one to three weeks off and then slowly return to heal up, so here's hoping she takes all the time she needs.
