Bleachers Share Practical Magic 2 Single “Caught Myself Believing,” Bring Out Carly Rae Jepsen In LA

In May, Bleachers released their fifth album, everyone for ten minutes, but that's not the end of the musical output this year from Jack Antonoff and friends.

Practical Magic 2, the sequel to the witchy 1998 rom-com starring Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman, is out today, and so is its soundtrack. In the wake of Olivia Rodrigo's Daisy Chain Fields festival, Bullock raised suspicions of a collaboration between Rodrigo and Stevie Nicks for the movie. Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide" and Rodrigo's "the cure" appear in the movie, but neither song is on the soundtrack album. What we do get, besides Rupert Gregson-Williams' score, is three new songs: a cover of Billy Joel's "And So It Goes" by Brandi Carlile, one from Aldae called "Blur" that briefly had me thinking Damon Albarn's old band was on the soundtrack, and a new Bleachers song called "Caught Myself Believing."

"It was an absolute joy to get together as a band and make a song for this soundtrack. Practical Magic is such a beloved story," Antonoff said. "I'm so glad the world gets a part two, and that Bleachers gets to play a small part in it."

In other Bleachers news, the band began a run of five sold-out shows at the Troubadour in Los Angeles on Thursday. At the gig, Carly Rae Jepsen came out to duet with Antonoff on an acoustic version of the early Bleachers single "I Wanna Get Better."
