We've finally reached release week for Autosmile, the new album from the Philly art-folk duo @. Last Friday, social media music critic extraordinaire Ryley Walker weighed in with a take I cannot top:
This band @ is cool it’s like Alice In Chains but sung tongs great playing

Now @ are sharing one last advance track to follow "Autosmile," "Punish My Mind," and "Bird." Today's new single "I Know You Are (But What Am I Thinking)" is another fine showcase for Victoria Rose and Stone Filipczak as singers, songwriters, and arrangers. That blend of acoustic guitar, cello, minimal percussive clatter, and medieval keyboard melodies is fascinating. "My style is constantly changing/ My smile consistently aging," they sing in whispery harmonies. "My symptoms seem to be worsening/ I'm simply not a person."
The Elliott Smith vibes are strong on this one, but it's also on its own trip. Watch Sage Caswell's video for the song below.
Autosmile is out 10/16 on 4AD.
