Last night (Oct. 17) in Oslo, Bob Dylan kicked off the Lights Of Autumn tour. At Oslo Spektrum, Dylan performed a 19-track set, playing the electric keyboard the entire night, with new covers of Randy Newman's "Louisiana 1927" and Guy Clark's "Dublin Blues." He also performed "Crash On The Levee" for the first time since 2005 and provided new lyrics for "Tangled Up In Blue," which he hadn't played since 2018.
Dylan made changes to the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth verses on "Tangled Up In Blue." The biggest changes came in the third and fourth verses, which, transcribed from uploaded clips, read as such like this:
Way up in the frozen woods
Teardrops touch the sky
The leaves are falling one by one
And the moments passing by
Sometimes I get so tired
Sometimes im getting away
Lucky you found another
Tomorrows another day
And all the while I was alone
The past was close behind
Seen a lot of people but
I never escaped her mind
She just grew
Tangled up in blueThings were gettin’ to cost too much
Love had slipped through my hand
Certain truths are dancing
I never did understand
You bury the hatchet
You put her to bed
Sometime you go for a ride
Nothing ever looks the same
After you've been on the other side
It turns around watch it disappear
Whatever i was looking at
He never did find it here
Neither did you
Tangled up in blue
As we all know, Dylan's been rotating his guitarists this year. So of course he had a new one of those as well. It's reportedly Mike Seal. Dylan's played with Doug Lancio, Bob Britt, Julian Lage, Joel Paterson, and Jad Tariq, making Seal the the band's sixth guitarist in 2026.
Also, if you were wondering if Dylan (or someone on his behalf) was still constantly posting slop fiction on his Patreon, he certainly is.
