I truly cannot believe we're about to get a new Disfear record. In the past two years, two members of the legendary Swedish D-beat band, vocalist Tomas Lindberg and drummer Marcus Andersson, passed away from cancer. (Another member, bassist Henke Frykman, also died of cancer in 2011.) The band's last album was 2008's Live The Storm, an absolute classic, and that would've made a powerful farewell. But before Lindberg and Andersson died, Disfear recorded one more album, and it's coming out next month.
Disfear recorded The Last Nail, their final album, with Converge's Kurt Ballou, and we've already posted "Early Graves," a lead single with an extremely on-the-nose title. Today, Disfear share the anthemic new track "Shackled To Our Vice." The magic of this band is that a song like this can sound fun and triumphant, even amid the tragic context of its release. Listen below.
The Last Nail is out 11/20 on Relapse.
