Less than 48 hours ago, Mercury Rev's "Butterfly's Wing" took us on a psychedelic trek through a Japanese landscape stocked with rice paper boats and jellyfish, twisty tree branches, dragonflies, kindly whales, and flower pedal rainstorms. Following that Japanese theme -- at least in name -- Fujiya & Miyagi have offered up a remix of Snowflake Midnight's bombastic first single "Senses On Fire." In this more Zen take, the percussion's given the F&M treatment, the vocals are turned down a dozen notches, and it's difficult imagining Jonathan Donahue pumping his arms in the air.

This remix is slated to show up on a special "Butterfly's Wing" 12", which will include remixes of "Butterfly's" by Isan and Carlos Anthony Molina plus an additional "Senses On Fire" remix by James Holden. It's out 11/17, the same time as the straight-up "Butterfly's Wing" single.For now, Snowflake Midnight is out via Yep Roc.
