Last year's Clash-sampling, terror-ific "Paper Planes" found a second life this summer, thanks to Pineapple Express and a bunch of hot rappers. Maya tells Rolling Stone, "The way human beings hear stuff, it's like, suddenly a song sounds better to you because it's been in a movie." Sensing that we've heard enough shitty covers by now, Mad Decent recently declared the track dead. Of course, it is far from dead: Billboard Hot 100 has "Planes" at #9 (with a bullet?) and Kala gets rereleased with six bonus tracks next month. Among them is a remix of "Boyz" featuringJay-Z. You can download the MP3 here.
And as we mentioned on Saturday, Diesel threw a big international birthday party the other day, where a visibly pregnant Maya (relax, blogosphere) performed live mash-ups with N.E.R.D., Franz Ferdinand, and T.I.
Here's "Paper Planes" with Rye Rye and Pharrell.

Congrats to M.I.A. and her fiance Benjamin Brewer. Do any of these atrocities come in onesie?
