Lemonade – “Lifted (Twin Shadow Remix)”

Lemonade's dubby, steel-drum hummed, liquid-squished Pure Moods come-on "Lifted" got me gushy twice over (in track and video form); enter George Lewis Jr. aka Brooklyn's Twin Shadow (not to be confused with Brooklyn's Twin Sister -- twins hate it when you get them mixed up) to complete the trifecta. His remix recasts "Lifted" entirely, shifting the locale (more a shadowy dance club than a tropical beachfront), and it's timing (less a come-on anticipating a hookup than a late-night confirmation that it's game time). The trickling xylophone makes a cameo, but mostly this is de novo digitalisms and etc. They're both here, one suiting each of those pure moods:

Lemonade's Pure Moods EP is out via True Panther/Matador, and Twin Shadow's debut LP is due this year via Terrible. Hear Shadow at MySpace, and don't forget "Castles In The Snow" or that great Bear In Heaven redo he did.
