It's taken 25 years, but the shy guys of Slayer are finally ready to take on television. They'll do Jimmy Kimmel's late night show, perfect for maximum nightmare potential. Via Blabbermouth:
According to a press release from mPRm Public Relations, tickets for SLAYER's January 19 appearance on ABC-TV's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" sold out in about four hours, matching the performance of such superstar acts as JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, KORN and LINKIN PARK.
SLAYER will make its first-ever network television appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" The band will play two songs on air, "Jihad" and "Mandatory Suicide", as well as three additional off-air tracks for a crowd of over 1,000 people.
The show will most definitely not air in India. Do any Stereogum readers still listen to Slayer? (Like you didn't have Seasons In The Abyss; everyone goes through a satanic death metal phase!) And you're in luck, hipster metal fans -- Mastodon is opening for Slayer on tour. Good family fun! Bring the kids.
