It was a breakout year for British beatmaker Gold Panda, whose remixes and singles rippled around 2009 and whose debut full-length Lucky Shiner was one of this year's finest. When live, he summons his samples and constructs his beats from the floor up,which makes this two-song Maida Vale session for Rob da Bank's BBC1 show of particular interest for those who only know Lucky Shiner's sped-up sitar sampler "You" and Japanese-masked "Marriage" in their in-studio form: in the Maida Vale studio the beats are modulated, "You"'s cornerstone audio snippet momentarily slowed to its originally occurring BPM to help reveal its inspiration, etc. If you stick through the entire show you'll also hear a Le Chev (i.e. Fischerspooner's Michael Cheever) remix of Passion Pit's "Sleepyhead" (which you can also download below), that dope PoPo track "Let's Get Away" we premiered a bit ago, and an interview with odds-on 2011 master/dubstep poster child James Blake.

Listen up at the BBC. If you want it as an MP3, you will have to contend with a couple of pop-up ads but this link will get you there.
