The Black Lips' songs, especially on 200 Million Thousand, possess a nice fuzzy texture and the Atlantans appropriate great garage-isms, but I've always been less than enthused by the band because from carefully marketing their "escape" from India to embodying every clichéd Vice signifier on earth to the "we are loose cannons" live antics, they just try too hard.
