New Parts & Labor Video – “The Gold We’re Digging” (Stereogum Premiere)

This flickering, arts 'n' crafted, Nicholas Chatfield-Taylor-directed video for Parts & Labor's "The Gold We're Digging" finds the psychedelic Brooklyn noise-rockers cum ultra anthemic Brooklyn noise-popsters not only sounding cleaner, but looking significantly less bearded than in the past. No worries feedback fiends, the hooky standout from the trio's forth album Mapmaker bristles with as much kinetic energy as past pummels, but manages a more refined sense of melody and a stronger dynamic range. Plus, all those shifting color blocks are so hypnotic?

On the downside, Energizer-drummer Christopher R. Weingarten's editing full-time at Paper Thin Walls and no longer in the band, so view this thing as some sort of percussive parting shot, too.Mighty big kick pedal to fill ?Maybe they could borrow Agoraphobic Nosebleed's drum machine?

Mapmaker is out on Brah/Jagjaguwar.
