Mike Sniper, the guy behind Blank Dogs and Captured Tracks, told us Zodiacs isn't really a band, it's "a studio project with a rotating lineup." Wild Nothing and Beach Fossils collaborate on one track, for instance, and this one features Dum Dum Girls' Dee Dee on vocals, Woods' Jeremy Earl on drums, his bandmate Jarvis Taveniere on guitar, Crystal Stilts JB Townsend on guitar, and Sniper on bass and backing vocals. "Faraway Friend" shows up on a Zodiacs 7" due out 3/29 via Captured Tracks. It'll be pressed in a onetime edition of 1,000. If you order something over $10 from the label on or after that release date, you'll get a copy of the single. Otherwise it'll be sold in independent record stores and taken on tour with the various members' bands.
