R.I.P. Pavarotti

Sadness abound in the opera world this morning as Luciano Pavarotti -- the "King Of The High Cs," the Maestro, the great tenor that crossed over and made fans of operatic neophytes and critics alike -- died Thursday at the age of 71 from complications due to pancreatic cancer. The AP has a rather massive obituary, tracing in detail Pavarotti's rise to acclaim, career highlights and lowlights, and quotes from the remaining of the three tenors.

However they don't have YouTube of Luciano duetting with Lou Reed -- that'swhat we're here for. "Perfect Day" in '01, from the Pavarotti and Friends show. Watch Lou smile when Lu gets into it.

Part of Pavarotti's legacy was his unique ability to crossover with those operatic chops andaside from Lu/Lou, there's lots of clips out there of the man with familiar faces (like James Brown, Bono, etc). If you come across some faves, post 'em up.
