When we posted "Perfect Life," I talked about New Orleans duo Belong's more concrete “song”-based work on their sophomore full-length Common Era, noting that despite the differences, "the same overall mood, texture, and sensibility" of their earlier blown-out material remained, "casting interesting patterns and shadows" on 2006's October Language. The dreamy, half-submerged pop of "Never Came Close" is a pretty great example of this.
