Long Island-based BTW As Tall As Lions took a step up with last year's self-titled LP, a swirling modern-rock document that stands tall amongst its heart-on-a-sleeve, lush-hooked peers -- bringing shrewder melodies, better time signature shifts, and smarter recording studio partners (Pixies' engineer/mixer Steven Haigler joined last time). After a year crafting vids and supporting the record, ATAL ready one more mini-collection of tunes -- the digital only EP The Flood -- before working on the next full-length.
