We've been enjoying Through the Wilderness: A Tribute to Madonna (well, half of it), and Lavender Diamond's faithful take on "Like A Prayer" is one of the more intriguing moments. You don't get much of the soulfulness of Madonna's (can't really imagine that gospel choir clapping along or speaking in tongues), but you do get an icily reverent, piano-doused hymn, with lots of reverb. You can hear the song streaming over at MySpace (via Pitchfork Media).
