One thing's for sure, Most Serene Republic's video for "The Men Who Live Upstairs," is anything but most serene. There's the Dickens/Victorian-looking "A Plague On Eminence" title and some eye rolling at the beginning, but then in fits and starts the hostile puritanical congregation comes to recognize the Ontario crew's blustery baroque pop, deciding ultimately to put differences aside and get footloose. Not really. One dude seems all consumptive about it -- sneezing plague-y blood -- then all hellfire breaks loose. That's what too much anthemic, troupe-sized Canadian rock will do to ya.

Vocalist Adrian Jewett totally rivals Gerard Way in manic, church-function facial expressions. Creepy.
Population is out on Arts & Crafts.
