Salinger and snaps like a member of the Addams Family on "Girly Worm," a tune that also reminds us of Randy Newman in its soft, scratchy sing-a-long qualities. Mmm, bananafish. Viola does have an affinity for the moving image: He wrote 10 songs for Walk Hard, the John C. Reilly spoof we've mentioned a couple times. Lurch is out soon in a limited-edition of 1,000 available exclusively via Mike's site. The Walk Hard soundtrack is out 12/4. Viola starts a month-long residency at Joe's Pub in February. Walk Hard premieres on pay cable sometime after that, and that's probably when we'll see it.
