Previous tracks, from Tony Castles' five-song No Source EP, have leavened the Brooklyn band's natural, lazing sweetness with fuzz and whimsy, or barking guitars. But this new one dispenses with all that scruff to deliver a dewy-eyed core. This is a good thing, because Tony Castles do dewy well. There's a lagging ease to the guitar and vocals of "Heart In The Pipes" that recalls Galaxie 500 a la Real Estate, or "Albatross"-era Fleetwood Mac ala Lake; it's the sort of lagging ease that paints bittersweet lyrics well. It's a walk through a house, "a fire in the heart," and an affecting bit of dream-pop.
