Radioclit and Esau Mwamwaya, aka the Very Best, made their NYC live debut in the Village on Saturday night. The guys didn't get started until sometime after 1AM, so you actually could have made it from Siren to Le Poisson Rouge in time to completely enjoy both. Judging from everyone's reports and these photos by Santiago Felipe, that probably would have been the smart thing to do -- lots of smiles, everybody said it was a party, Ezra turned up to sing his part on "The Warm Heart Of Africa," etc. Here's some video of Esau and Ezra doing it at LPR:

The Very Best is putting out their Warm Heart Of Africa LP this fall via Green Owl. You can still get their great mixtape for free here (.zip).
Also if you're into what Radioclit's done with Esau, it's worth checking out what Johan Hugo (half of Radioclit) has put together with dancehall siren Terry Lynn. Lots of Radioclit going around these days.
