An underpraised but truly awesome track last year was Mystery Jets' hearth-friendly, retro-lovely "Flakes," which gave a taste of what Erol Alkan had in mind in producing their next LP, 21 (apparently, not a lot of prog). New single "Young Love," featuring (another!) teenage British sensation Laura Marling (odds-on favorite for "Feist of 2008"), has the band continuing to warm hearts, be it in a more upbeat, tie-died & paneled fashion. Everything from the effect on the "oohs" to the little string-attacks in the hook point the wayto deepening pop smarts.
If you can't tell, we are finding ourselves really excited for the new album.

Nice tune, right day for it ... but if tonight is more about cuddling, then this is what should make your soundtrack:
Mystery Jets - "Flakes" (MP3)
Enjoy.
