It's the return of Remixtape, the feature where I listen to a tremendous amount of shitty blog-bait "X Remixes Y" tracks and weed out those worth your weed-out. (Right?) Volume 6 opens with this month's undisputed champion of tracks bearing Remix in their title: the indomitable "Huzzah!" featuring a fierce set of relatively underground rappers (El-P, Despot, Danny Brown, some band Das Racist), from Tom's inaugural Mixtape Of The Week by Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire. Also involved: Remixtape vets Holy Other, Star Slinger, How To Dress Well, and also Balam Acab casting syrupy spells on '90s R&B hallmark "My Boo." This mix is another opportunity to focus on Beach Fossils offshoot/Bklyn upstarts Dive with a remix of their excellent debut Captured Tracks single "Sometime." Korallreven, Girl Unit, I Break Horses, Hooray For Earth, and Drake + Waka help round out the set.
