Though not exactly the new Whale, you could easily take the angle that it's gotta be rough having a band called Little Girls in the wake of Girls' recent explosion. (Yes, it's harder when you're Seattle's the Girls.) The bigger hurdle for multi-instrumental Torontonian Josh McIntyre is having a dark lo-fi Captured Track-related project that resembles label head Mike Sniper's Blank Dogs (and Gary War, Ye Olde Maids, and etc). Little Girls -- which began as McIntyre's solo project and now tour as a quartet -- sound more like a full band, though, which sets them apart within the bedroom set. Take a listen to "Growing" the last song on their forthcoming full-length debut Concepts.
