It's always fun when awesome little rap EPs drop in out of nowhere. Reigning veteran Harlem rap weird Cam'ron and his foghorn-voiced sidekick Vado have released a ton of music, some free and some not, over the last few years, but the new Blu Tops EP is special since it shoots for a sort of coherence that these guys rarely bother with. On this one, they've teamed up with R&B singer McKenzie Eddy and producer Ski Beatz, the New York stalwart who crafted tracks on Jay-Z's Reasonable Doubt, discovered Camp Lo, and, more recently, helmed both of Curren$y's excellent Pilot Talk albums. The end result is an irresistible five-song slice of stoner-rap goofiness with an opening track that hammers us with dubstep bass without ever going full Skrillex. Stream or download the EP below.
