Lately, there's been a whole lot of crossover between the worlds of indie rock and avant-classical, and three of the parties most responsible are Sufjan Stevens, the wizardly young composer Nico Muhly, and the National's resident experimentalist Bryce Dessner. MusicNOW, Dessner's Cincinnati music festival, ended on Friday, and all three teamed up on the final night to debut the new song "Venus." It's an expansive thing with a full orchestral backing and a bit of Auto-Tuned crooning from Sufjan, and we've got fan-made video of it below.
