Arctic Monkeys Debut New Songs At First Show In 4 Years — Watch
Arctic Monkeys’ new album Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, their first since 2013’s riff-rocking AM, is coming out next week. But since they decided not to release any of the LP’s tracks as advance singles, we still hadn’t actually heard anything besides the brief instrumental snippet of new music in the album trailer — until yesterday, that is.
Last night, Arctic Monkeys played their first live show in nearly four years at the the Observatory North Park in San Diego. And, as Consequence Of Sound points out, they took the opportunity to debut some new songs from the forthcoming Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino. Joined by Tame Impala’s Cameron Avery, who also worked on the album, the band played new songs “Four Out Of Five,” “One Point Perspective,” “American Sports,” and “She Looks Like Fun.”
They had some other surprises in store for the audience, too. In addition to the new songs, they performed “One For The Road” b-side “You’re So Dark” live for the first time and debuted a new arrangement of Suck It And See track “The Hellcat Spangled Shalalala.” Watch Arctic Monkeys debut new songs at their first show in four years below.
